Knitting Notions sells only natural fiber yarn of the best quality we can find. We specialize in Australian Merino Wool yarns and Organic Natural Colored Cotton yarns. All the yarn is described in more detail on its particular item page. We use Lanaset/Sabraset acid dyes for protein fiber yarn. These are known for their lightfast and colorfast qualities.

• Classic Merino Worsted  is a 4 ply worsted weight Merino wool yarn
• Classic Merino Sport a 3 ply sport weight Merino wool yarn
• Classic Merino Supersock is a 2 ply superwash fingering weight merino wool yarn
• Classic Merino Lace is a 2 ply lace weight merino wool yarn.
• Organic Cotton is a 2 ply naturally colored organic cotton yarn. It is a thick and thin spun yarn and is the only yarn we sell undyed

 Our yarns are kettle dyed in up to 3500 g dye lots. We have both semi-solids and hand painted varigated colorways.  We dye our hand painted colorways with short repeats to lessen the tendency to create pooling

We have recently acquired equipment that enables us to process larger quantites of hand painted colorways.  We have these hand painted colorways in our Classic Merino Lace, Classic Merino Supersock, Classic Merino Sport, Classic Merino Worsted, and Classic Wool yarns.
